So if you chose to join the God King, for gameplay purposes you get rewound a few minutes to try the fight again. I manage to not embarrass myself too badly, and end up back at the point where you can choose your sword or the God King's crotch. This time, we will not go down so easy!

The God King: Impudent child! How dare you refuse the will of the Deathless! You will now feel the full power of my wrath!
Someone doesn't take rejection well

19 Years Later

what do you think it feels like to inherit your dad's armor, the stuff you're supposed to go off and fight a god in, and it's this get-up.
So, Our Hero Mk. 4, 75 years into this cycle and son of The Kinky One, ditches that armor so he can go fight an eight foot tall man with terrible taste in accessories.

yes, that does appear to be an actual horse's head. Like 'y do.

Actually you know what that Practical Male Armor actually gives me a good health bonus, so it gets a chance at redeeming itself.

oh shit

OH SHIT

Impossible! I am... immortal...!
You... <cough>... you don't know what you've done.

This world contains... far greater danger... than you could imagine. <cough>...
They'll be coming for YOU now...

Our Hero is like a dog who managed to catch a car. "I DID IT"

"WHAT DO NOW"

Roll credits again! But we are NOT DONE.
For you see, our hero approaches the God King's throne, and he hears something.

What's that?

let's very carefully poke it
It beeps, and something starts to whirr in the ceiling above.

Well that doesn't fit the aesthetic AT ALL

Hey so
Do you recognize the blurry blob on that sphere

how about these
Yeah.
THAT'S EARTH.
So! That's one of our Big Goddamn Plot Twists. This is Earth! One that's got a broken Moon and high tech lurking in the castles of immortal beings. This is why I said back in Part 1 that there's an explanation for why the characters speak a heavily Romance language-flavored conlang: this is a future setting, and language has presumably evolved to a new form over the millennia. And yes, that's the timescale we're dealing with. Thousands of years in the future, a man wearing half a shirt will kill God and mess with his iPad.
There's a lot more about the setting I could cover, but the vast majority of it will be revealed in a semi-logical order by the series itself, so I'll leave it be for now.
Because we're not done. We are not yet at the end of the game.
